Time to update the D2 and café.com walls!
The submission deadline is Friday, February 24th at 12:00. Upload your images directly into the Eagan Photo Club D2 share: \\U0014439-wvb\D2_Images.
Image selection is scheduled for the same day: Friday, February 24th at 2:00 PM in D4-N396.
The photographer retains complete ownership of the original image. Prints will be returned to the photographer at the next refresh.
Submission guidelines:
• This is a showcase for your best work!
• Thomson display criteria:
No weapons of any kind,
No religious content,
No political content (including political statements),
No sexual content or nudity,
No easily-identifiable people in the image.
Note: These criteria only apply to images for public display and not for club salons/competitions.
• Only digital entries can be accepted.
• Each club member may submit three (3) images.
• Follow this naming convention: LastName_FirstName - ImageTitle.jpg (e.g. Laqua_Jon - Ely Star Trails.jpg.)
• The filename will be used for the Image Title on the sign, so name your images how you want them listed.
• Save your images as .jpg, .tif or Photoshop .psd format. Flatten layered Photoshop files to minimize disk space.
• Save .jpg files at level 10 compression to maintain image quality.
• If you’re editing your image(s), please crop to either 8x10 or 8x12 dimensions. Your image may ultimately be cropped to a different size, depending on the printed size chosen for your image.
• Whenever possible maintain higher resolutions (180 - 300dpi).
Previously some images have been 30k - 50k in size; these images do not have enough data to support 11x17 or 20x24 prints; most were unable to support 8x10 prints!
Conversely, 500MB images are overkill. Keep your image size reasonable!
Please let Jon Laqua, Deb Shoemaker or Dan Gustafson know if you have any questions.
Most importantly, if you are interested in participating in the image selection process or the matting and framing of the printed images, let me know. This is a tremendous amount of work, and we're an all-volunteer club. We will not turn away any help. :-)
