Member Spotlight: Thomas Beukhof
Tom has been with the company 6 years and is a recent member to the club. Last night was his first meeting. He likes Landscapes and close-ups. He'd also like to learn more about custom settings. He is very well travelled. We look forward to seeing more of his images and hear of his travels. To read more about Tom visit the member spotlight section using the link at right to the club wiki main page or click here: https://docs.google.com/open?id=0B50qh0eH7k75MTliNjc4NDAtZTdlNi00NzVjLWFmYTgtMWVhYjk1NmVjOGM2.
Presentation: Fall MN Landscape Arboretum Trip by Dan Gustafson
Dan showed a compilation of photos that were taken last October. Quite a few club members participated. He presented a very nice mixture of images from the attendees. I think they were very surprised at the diversity of blooms left at that time of year and the number of bees! They charge by the person, but a trip out there sounds like it is very much worth the cost and the drive. Thanks for putting this trip together, Dan.
Presentation: Fall Ozark Mountain Trip by Bob and Deb Shoemaker, Dan Gustafson, Brian Wick and Jon Laqua
All field trips aren't close to home as proven by Deb, Bob, Brian, Dan and Jon. They made the trip to Branson, MO last fall to check out the town and the fall color. They were a little early for fall color, but still captured some great images. Even though they all might have been standing next to one another they can still see the same subject through much different eyes. They brought back a mixture of portrait, architectural and landscape images. We also love the stories that go along with those photos. Great job!!!
Salon: Abstract Our judge for the evening was club member David Mortenson. David has a keen eye for form and function. He applied the "rules" for the subject and is not afraid to get tough on technicalities. He offered up some very good critique. He also showed some examples of how he thought the topic photo could be improved. Good job on a tough subject!
