Announcements:
In honor of Veterans Day, the Veterans Employee
Resource Group will be lining the D and A building entrance roadway areas with
small U.S. flags. They are using the approx. 2000 flags that Terry Pieper
used for his fundraiser earlier this year. Flags will go up Wednesday,
Nov 10th at 4 pm, and will be removed on Thursday, Nov. 11th
at 4 pm. If you were able to photograph the event and want to share some of
your best shots please post them to the share no later than noon on Thursday.
The club is working on a December field trip
with a holiday theme such as the Holidazzle parade, holiday lights, etc. Look
for more details to come. If you have any ideas for this trip or possible
future trips please let us know.
Presentation:
Jon Laqua showed 41 images from the October
field trip. This was a night event and images displayed were of the Broadway
Bridge, the Mpls skyline as well as the spoon and cherry.
Jon Laqua held a presentation on infrared
photography. The easiest way to achieve this effect is with a filter. For small
lenses they are relatively inexpensive, but the price will rise quickly for
larges lenses. When using this method remember a tripod, get set up, and then
screw the filter on. After that, experiment with exposure times.
Another method is to have a company convert over
a camera that you already own. There are steps for you to do this yourself, but
Jon stated having someone else do the conversion was well worth the price.
10-2 is the perfect shooting times and be VERY
careful when photographing people!
FYI--if anyone has a 52 mm infrared filter to
sell Adam Lockhart is interested.
